CRM peptides
Critical Raw Material Peptides Applications
Custom CRM-grade peptides from AnaSpec can be used in many applications such as in vivo diagnostic imaging, starting materials in biopharmaceutical production, ex vivo cell therapy and neoantigens.
Diagnostic testing
IVD companies or Clinical laboratories pursuing the development of in vitro diagnostic tests for the detection of molecules and analytes in biological samples, should consider using CRM grade peptide ASR’s.
CRM peptides can be used in in vivo diagnostic applications such as PET scan. Peptides used for in vivo diagnostic imaging are typically modified to improve their biological half-life, and to accommodate downstream radiolabeling. AnaSpec is specialized in both types of custom modifications to improve peptide metabolic stability, including cyclizations, incorporation of D-amino acids, PEGylations, and peptide conjugations to chelators such as DOTA for downstream radiolabeling.
*AnaSpec does not offer radiolabeling services
Pre-clinical animal testing
To facilitate consistency in pharmacokinetic and toxicity studies, CRM grade peptides should be considered for utilization in pre-clinical animal studies.
Please note that we also handle animal and analytical testings on your test items in GLP an GLP-like environments
Skin cosmetics
Peptides are now regularly used in the cosmetics and anti-ageing market.
The skin care market is projected to increase over the next few years owed to the demand for new options in skin care cosmetics to improve skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, texture, and hyperpigmentation, in a non-invasive manner.
Peptides will remain a key ingredient in cosmeceutical products, as their roles in collagen production and in skin protection (skin antimicrobial peptides), are further studied. We expect to see such knowledge applied to the development of new skin care maintenance and repair alternatives.
Biomaterial Peptide Coatings
A major issue with implanted medical devices is the occurrence of biomaterial-associated infections (BAI). These infections develop when microbial biofilms form on a device surface. As conventional antibiotic treatments cannot be localized onto a device, they are not an effective solution. A potential answer is the application of CRM antimicrobial peptide coatings onto the medical device surface in order to target their effects.
BioPharmaceutical raw materials & precursors
CRM peptides synthesized at AnaSpec can be incorporated as starting materials or intermediates in the production of biopharmaceuticals.
Examples are peptides conjugated to drugs for targeted delivery, or peptide antigens conjugated to sepharose beads for use as ligand in the purification of an Fab antibody fragment.
